Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapists are movement specialists, who are experts in assessing, diagnosing & treating injury and pain related to muscles, joints & the spine.

Our Physiotherapists are all degree educated and registered with AHPRA so you can rest assured you are in good hands.

What to expect at your first appointment:

  • Your first appointment will consist of a detailed conversation about the history of your current problem and a physical examination.
  • Your physiotherapist will determine what your main issue is, discuss your goals and develop an understanding of what is important for you to achieve before recommending a treatment plan.
  • You will leave the appointment with an individualised management plan, which will explain the treatment you require.
  • We will start treating your issue in the first session. If a personalised exercise programme is needed we can even set you up with access to our exercise App to get you started!

Our Physiotherapists are skilled in ‘hands on’ treatment to help ease your pain and put you on the right path to recovery.

Our Physiotherapists also offer acupuncture, dry needling and shockwave therapy as required.

Acupuncture

In Western Medicine, acupuncture is mainly used as a pain relief treatment option. Acupuncture may provide short-term pain relief and is commonly used in combination with other treatment options such as exercise.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is an effective and efficient technique for the treatment of muscular pain and myofasial dysfunction.

In simple terms, the treatment involves the needling of a muscle’s trigger points without injecting any substance.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that stimulates the body’s natural healing process. It can relieve pain and promote healing of injured tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissues. It accomplishes this by releasing growth factors in the injured tissue.

Shockwave therapy is a type of regenerative therapy.

It is used to treat tendinopathy as well as difficult-to-heal ligament injuries. Some degenerative tendinopathies have an associated buildup of calcium in the tendon. Focused shock waves can break those deposits up.
